The Staff

We work very hard to ensure that being part of the Reach family is a great experience. Our staff are trained in their discipline, and also in our methodology of working.

Carla Jane Clayton

Artistic Director and Dance Coach

Carla has taught at Reach Musical Theatre from the outset and is now the Artistic Director. Carla graduated with a BA(HONS) Dance and Education from DeMontfort University and then went on to complete her PGCE at Sheffield Hallam University. Carla has choreographed and performed in many musicals outside of Reach, including; Our House, Legally Blonde and most recently Shrek the musical at Sheffield’s Lyceum Theatre.
Carla organised the 2016 performance at Disneyland Paris, planning everything from the travel, to the final performance on stage. 

Emma Carrigan

Singing Coach

Emma graduated from the University of Leeds with a 1st Class BA(HONS) in Theatre and Performance and went on to complete her PGCE in Secondary Drama. She is now Head of Drama at a local high school. She achieved her grade 8 in popular music vocals at age 17, which allows her to give the best support to our students at Reach Musical Theatre. Emma has musical theatre experience herself after taking on lead roles such as; Mrs Potts in Beauty and the Beast, and Mabel in Fame.

Beth Marshall

Acting Coach

Beth has a foundation degree in Drama from Sheffield College and a BA(HONS) Children, Young People and Families from Sheffield Hallam University. Beth is employed at a local high school supporting SEN children and is perfectly placed here at Reach Musical Theatre to support children of all abilities. Beth has stage managed many high school performances including an entry for The Shakespeare Festival at Sheffield’s Lyceum Theatre. Beth teaches our students amazing acting techniques to help them achieve the variety of characters loved by our audiences.

Dolly Pratt

Dance Coach

Dolly has recently graduated from Arden School of Theatre with a 2:1 in Musical Theatre. Dolly is a triple threat performer with exceptional skills in Acting and Singing, as well as Dance. Before studying at Arden, Dolly attended Reach as a student. During her time at Reach she played roles including Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, and Belle in Beauty & The Beast.

Aisling Beegan

Assistant Singing Coach

Aisling has had a passion for singing and musical theatre from a young age. She is currently in Year 13 studying her A-levels – her favourite subject being Drama. Since studying Music GCSE, Aisling has been using her fantastic piano and singing skills to write her own songs. Aisling also loves performing other people’s songs too. She has starred in lead roles in her school productions including Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, and Margaret in Everybody’s Talking about Jamie.

Joanne Waymouth

Rehearsal Manager

Joanne has been a staff member for Reach since its beginning. Joanne's experience means she efficiently organises student records, including tickets, fees and front of house. In addition to this, Jo helps organise rehearsal spaces, theatre hire and external events, the most recent being the group trip to Disneyland Paris. Joanne is currently studying for her certificate in Principles of working with individuals with learning difficulties, helping to support children of all abilities at Reach Musical Theatre.
